Professor Chin's studies have focused on the application of polymer physics, microfabrication and engineering principles to biological systems. In his recent sensor development for valley fever, a a novel reduced graphene oxide based biosensor is described with Coccidioides (cocci) antibodies as the target analytes. The device achieves rapid, ultrasensitive detection with a wide linear range and sub picomolar (2.5 pg/ml) detection, while also delivering high selectivity and reproducibility.
